TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR THE WRITER/CUSTOMER & THE EXPERT ADVISOR

This document details the guidelines for both the writer and the expert consultant to follow when engaged with any of the products sold by Consulting Cops. These rules are to ensure that all parties are aware of their responsibilities and also the limits involved depending on the service they are involved with.

GENERAL

1. The writer/customer will never be supplied with the personal contact details of the relevant expert.

2. The expert will only be supplied with the contact details of the writer/customer for the Personal Consultation service.

3. Neither Consulting Cops or the advising expert will disclose the details of the project the writer/customer is involved with to any third party unless they have the expressed permission in writing from that writer/customer.

4. The expert will not disclose any information that could be deemed too sensitive or of National Security such as a method of investigation not commonly known by members of the public. The discretion for this decision lies with the expert supplying the advice.

5. The expert is not to disclose any personal details of persons that they have been or are still involved with in real or live cases unless they have that person(s) personal permission or they are happy that the information they are disclosing to the writer/customer is in the public domain. This decision lies with the expert supplying the advice.

6. If, for any reason, the relationship between the writer/customer and the expert supplied breaks down then either or both parties should immediately make Consulting Cops aware to resolve the issue.

7. The option to purchase a service over a twelve-month period means the writer/customer commits to paying the full twelve separate payments. If the writer/customer fails to complete the twelve payments then Consulting Cops may be forced to seek a legal resolution to obtain the remainder of the monies outstanding from the writer/customer.

8. If the writer/customer has financial difficulties or any issues with completing their twelve-payment commitment then they should contact Consulting Cops at the earliest opportunity to discuss and resolve the issue.

PRODUCT

1 PERSONAL CONSULTATION

1.1 The writer/customer will be contacted by the relevant expert within the period of 5 working days from the time that the questions were submitted to Consulting Cops.

1.2 The method of consultation will be agreed with the expert and the writer/customer following initial contact considering location and both parties access to differing forms of communication.

1.3 The initial fee of £100 covers up to a full 1-hour personal consultation with the relevant expert. Should the consultation not last the full 1 hour then the fee of £100 remains the cost. No refund will be given for any consultation less than 1-hour.

1.4 Any consultation lasting longer than 1-hour will be charged at £50 per hour. This fee will apply for part hours and no refund will be given should the consultation end prior to a full hour being completed.

1.5 Any future consultations with the same or different expert will need to be arranged via Consulting Cops and should not be arranged between the writer/customer and the expert without Consulting Cops being made aware.

1.6 If after the initial contact with the assigned expert the writer/customer would not like a personal consultation with this particular expert and would like another expert assigned to them then they should contact Consulting Cops. This contact must take place prior to the 1-hour personal consultation taking place otherwise a new purchase of this service would be required.

1.7 Feedback following a consultation is always welcome and should be directed to Consulting Cops.

2 FIVE QUESTIONS

2.1 The Five Questions service offers the writer/customer the opportunity to direct five questions at the police experts of Consulting Cops.

2.2 The service offered is a cost for five questions only. If the writer/customer wishes to ask more or less questions then they should contact Consulting Cops to discuss the options and costs applicable.

2.3 The answers to the five questions will be returned to the writer/customer within 10 working days.

2.4 The questions asked by the writer/customer will not be accepted if they require the expert to respond with a prolongated answer. An example would be; Question – “Can you please state the case history of all cases dealt with by a Homicide SIO?”

2.5 If a question is deemed to open and requiring a prolongated answer then it will be returned to the writer/customer with a request for resubmission to allow the answer to be returned in a more succinct manner.

2.6 If the answer is not that expected by the writer/customer then they should contact Consulting Cops to discuss and resolve.

3 SCENE/CHAPTER REVIEW

3.1 The writer/customer will submit a scene/chapter from their project to a maximum of 10 pages. The one-page review will then be returned to the writer/customer within 7 working days.

3.2 The maximum of 10 pages applies to a single scene or a single chapter. This does not mean that the writer/customer should submit 10 pages containing multiple scenes/chapters. This is a one scene/chapter review service.

3.3 If the writer/customer’s scene/chapter is longer than 10 pages then they should contact Consulting Cops prior to purchasing the product to discuss options.

4 WHOLE PROJECT REVIEW

4.1 There is no set price for a whole project review due to the varying sizes of written projects.

4.2 The writer/customer should contact Consulting Cops to discuss the length of their project to obtain a price for a full review.

4.3 Due to the potential length of a full project review it may require advice from a number of different experts. Consulting Cops will identify the relevant experts and ensure they review and supply feedback on the area of the project pertinent to their expertise.

4.4 Consulting Cops will collate all the feedback reviews from the expert and supply them to the writer/customer in one document.

5 ASSISTANT

5.1 Following the submission of the form requesting an assistant service Consulting Cops will identify the appropriate expert and task them with the writer’s request.

5.2 Consulting Cops will not supply the writer/customer with the expert’s/assistant’s personal contact details and will facilitate communication between the two via the enquiries@consultingcops.com email facility.

5.3 Consulting Cops will review all requests from the writer/customer to the assistant to ensure that the request is both suitable and not to onerous for the expert.

5.4 If the writer/customer makes multiple requests of their assistant in a short period of time Consulting Cops will ensure that these requests are collated and forwarded to the assistant in one document.
