Edward Carney
Domestic Abuse Expert
Ed’s a seasoned Domestic Abuse trainer, currently an Independent Domestic Abuse Advisor (IDVA) working for 16 years with those that harm, victim/survivors and children who’ve been impacted. Working in collaboration with Humberside Police and Probation.
Ed’s delivered support groups to parents of those affected by their children’s abusive patterns of behaviour. As well as children who are modelling or developing abusive patterns in their own behaviours. Previously he’s worked with parents victimised through Child on Parent (Filial abuse) as a parenting specialist in a Youth Offending Team.
Ed has also been trained to work with children and young people displaying sexually harmful behaviour. He’s his local Safeguarding lead trainer on Domestic Abuse regularly engaging professionals in training of risk.
Mark Griffin
Ex-Detective Chief Inspector
Mark spent 30 years with West Yorkshire Police, spending the majority of his career as a Detective and retiring as a Detective Chief Inspector. As the Head of Safeguarding for one of the largest Policing Districts in the country. He has led on child abuse investigations, public protection matters and worked closely with partners on developing safeguarding frameworks including Child Sexual Exploitation, Modern Day Slavery and Domestic Abuse. He now works as a Lead Reviewer and author in serious case reviews, identifying learning across partnerships within the safeguarding arena and is a subject matter expert in this field.
Gary Mills
Ex-Superintendent
Gary was a BCU Commander in Dyfed Powys Police. Gary was an SIO with experience of leading major crime investigations and also in writing force policies and procedure within the public protection arena. He was the All Wales lead on Safeguarding Children.
John Foulkes
Ex-Detective Chief Inspector
John's area of expertise surrounds rape and serious sexual assault including "Cold Case" enquiries. He was the partnership lead for the MPS Sexual Investigations Continuous Improvement Team. John was also a member of seven Local Safeguarding Children Board’s and the executive member in three of these groups.
Andy Ferne
Ex-Detective Constable
Andy is an experienced Detective and police trainer especially in the Family Liaison Officers role. He has a wide range of operational CID exprience gained from his time with the MPS. Andy has invaluable knowledge in the specific requirements in managing High Risk Sex Offenders including utlising covert techniques.
